Which One Do I choose?
If you have a high-speed Internet connection, the 64 kbps Abacast Stream will work best for you, all you need to do is click the listen link and install the Abacast client. The Abacast client is a small plug-in designed to improve your listening experience by utilizing a "Distributed Streaming Network" (which basically means your listening experience will be uninterrupted) you can find more technical information about this at www.abacast.com
The Abacast client is 100% Spyware Free!!!
The 32 kbps High Fidelity stream utilizes a technology called aacPlus, which uses less of your Internet bandwidth while preserving high quality audio. The ability to listen to an aacPlus stream is built in to WinAmp, so if you've already got the latest version you can listen right now just choose the listen option below the WinAmp logo.
If you wish to listen to the aacPlus stream using Windows Media Player you'll require a plug-in available here.
If your having problems listening on-line we'll do our best to help you. Visit http://support.abacast.com to view a list of common problems and how to correct them. If you can't find a solution click the "Open a ticket" option at the top of the support page.
What is the difference between what is streamed vs. what is “on the air”?
Usually there is none, except for a time delay that
exists on the stream due to the way it is encoded. A normal
time delay of 90 seconds or more will always exist on the stream,
this may affect your ability to enter time-sensitive contests on
the station. During certain programs we cannot stream (Wake
Forest, etc), we may substitute music programming on the stream,
the selections are automatically listed for playback from an audio
server in house, however, the announcer on duty has no control over
selections to be played over the stream.
I listen to the stream and would like to make a request during music programming, is there an e-mail address I can use?
Yes, it is: studio@blueridgecountry98.com
Or by phone: (276) 238-0981
